The Barossa Bands Scholarship was created in 2015 following the disbanding of the Barossa Junior Brass Band.
The aim of the Scholarship is to enable and promote the tuition of young, talented musicians who will be mentored by one of the local community bands.
The award of the Barossa Bands Scholarship is made from the Foundation Barossa Education Trust Account. Donations received into the Barossa Band Fund are invested and the income generated from the investment is gifted out in the form of a Scholarship. It is expected that local giving will continue to be received into the Scholarship so it can be sustained into perpetuity.
Who does the Scholarship assist?
The Scholarship will provide financial support for a student in years 7 to 10 from the Barossa region. Each scholarship will provide initially up to $750 for any one year which will be made available to two recipients. The scholarships may be utilised for travel, tuition, uniforms, instrument purchase or hire. The scholarship will include mentoring by a local community band.
All online donations over $2 are tax deductible
